Cast Iron Check Valve is a type of non return valve, which is mainly made of cast iron material and mainly used for water, steam, oil and gas applications. Its face to face dimension is either DIN3302-F6, BS5153, ANSI B16.10 or JIS B2002. The pressure rating of this type of check valve is usually PN10-PN16 or 125lb-150lb or 5K-10K.
The swing check valve is designed to open with forward flow and close automatically when flow reverses. The disc of this check valve swings freely on the hinge pin, and is forced shut by the reverse flow of the medium, which generates a back pressure. When pressure builds up on the downstream side, the disc is pushed open by the upstream pressure.
